My story may not be as interesting or cool as others but it's a story! I started out here in 2008 due to a friend of mine in junior high school. She told me of this wonderful site where I can put my art. At this point I have been drawing since I was in sixth grade when I saw a friend of mine drawing. I started drawing anime in the beginning and slowly grew into Naruto fanart so that is where I took off! Back to Junior high, I created my page as sasukeroxmysox13 and started with this first submission:
(Silly yes) Gaara was my favorite, you will find plenty of him in my gallery. Through the years, I mostly drew fandoms to try and expand my own imagination and creativity. I drew Corpse Bride, Coraline, Invader Zim, Naruto as mentioned before and many others!
I can't say I was very good, but this practice led me to create my own characters and style. Starting with my elementalists, that really didn't last long.
Since these lovely fellows (though they could have had amazing stories) did not really stay, eventually my ideas led into the creation of the all known and the ever loving ... MINOMI!
She was my baby, she did, and still does, mean so much to me! She has adjusted over the years but she will always still be mine. She is my perfect-ly abnormal, cocky, rambunctious rockstar of a girl. With her wings and guitarist attitude, she can truly conquer the world and show she is important. All the while trying to hide from the CIA and find her long lost brother all in her years of growing up.
Minomi was all I ever drew for a while even when I hit High School. By my sophomore year however, I met new friends and they showed me a whole new side of drawing. A certain friend of mine actually, Twins-of-heart
, introduced me to the anthropomorphic people he drew. Instantly I was hooked and developed my other favorite character of mine.
(first ever drawing of her)
Kotta became me, who I was. Needless to say I took on the "Furry" label. And honestly proud to say it. I am not the stereotypical hardcore furry addicted to the odd and unspeakable actions that we are "known" for. Basically, I am not the stereotyped "fur-fag". I truly just love the furry community for the people and the art.
As of this point, I'm starting to try to draw more realistically to get myself out of the anime phase because as of now, it had already become so popular...
I still keep practicing in mostly anatomy, animals, perspective and realism. It is my goal to continue to make you guys and myself happy. I enjoy what I love and I hope you guys do too! And although I work slowly, I hope I can update enough to keep you guys fixated and interested in my work.
Thank you all for sticking with me through all these years! I wouldn't have made it without all your support!Skin Art: HeatherSchoff
